Saturday Workshop List Spring 2022
All workshops will take place in our studio. We have our desks separated for social distancing and have plexi glass screens between you and the student opposite. As per guidelines, at the moment, we do wear masks during class.
There will be a break for 30 minutes for lunch.
26 February 10am-4pm Learn to Sew – make a fully lined, quilted tote bag £30 (includes all materials & thread). Beginners
5 March 10am – 4pm Charity sewing day Quilts 4 Care Leavers. No charge and we can supply all fabrics for the projects, we ask you to make a small donation, if you can, towards wadding & quilting costs all of which will go to the NI branch of Q4CL. All levels
12 March 10am to 4pm – Highland Cow, foundation paper pieced £50. You will be unlikely to get this finished in the day, but we will ensure that you have put several of the blocks together and we will take you through final construction before you leave. Confident beginner
19 March 10am-4pm Dresden Neighbourhood workshop £40 (add an extra £10 if you wish to take a ruler home)– we have a new Spring Dresden just released this week or we have our previous designs. Join us for a day to work on any of these styles, we walk you through the process to create your own masterpiece
26 March 10am – 4pm Learn to Sew – Beginners’ baby quilt £45 – this class will offer a choice of 2 simple baby quilt designs and a choice of colours – a kit will be provided with all the fabrics for the quilt top and binding (wadding & backing fabric will be extra). We expect to complete the patchwork quilt top, but don’t expect to get it layered and quilted. Beginners
2 April 10am – 4pm – Luna Lapin rabbit £50 includes a copy of the book by Sarah Peel – this is a hand sewn project made from felt. We’ll take you through construction of the rabbit and her fabulous duffle coat (can be machine sewn). As this is hand sewing both pieces will not be sewn in a day, but we’ll make sure that you understand how to construct Luna and her garment so that this project can be completed at home.
9 April 10am – 4pm Teddy Bear £40 – make a fully jointed traditional teddy bear – he stands about 45cm high and is made from quilting cotton fabric
